    Scuff marks are usually fairly easy to remove from vinyl floors. First, sweep the floor to remove dust. Then wipe the scuffed area with a damp cloth. You can use a pencil eraser to remove stubborn scuff marks (figure A).

    If the scuff mark is difficult to remove, wipe it with toothpaste or moist baking soda. If the scuff mark still shows, moisten a sponge with mild dishwashing detergent, and scrub until it disappears (figure B).
