    Tips:

    • Did you know? The ancient Egyptians developed the first known masonry recipe, which was a mixture of limestone, sandstone, granite, basalt, alabaster and diorite.

    • If you need to mix colored mortar when repairing masonry, wet the area to be patched first. Matching the wet color of the patch to the wet color of the area to be patched will yield professional results.

    • Place a few concrete blocks under the corners of a sheet of luan to create a shallow mixing tub for small masonry projects.

    • Get rid of bathroom clutter with a counter-mounted soap dispenser. Mark and drill the mounting hole in an area that is near the sink bowl, but will not interfere with the faucet. Insert the dispenser base through the rubber washer and into the hole, then secure it from underneath with the provided lock nut. Attach the bottle, fill with soap from the top, and drop the pump assembly into place to complete the project.

    • A postage stamp moistener is a perfect tool for applying sealer to ceramic tile grout.

    • Did you know? The earliest evidence of bathrooms was found in the Orkney Islands (northeast of Scotland), where a crude system of drains led from stone huts at least 10,000 years old.
